Pirates! Aliens! Space Travel! Space Pirates tells the story of Gabby, a kid who gets picked on during a school trip to the museum. Everything quickly changes when an alien space ship accidentally beams Gabby and her classmates up to outer space. Things go from bad to worse when the alien space ship is suddenly attacked by SPACE PIRATES! It’s only after this whirlwind space adventure that Gabby becomes comfortable in her own skin, and her classmates appreciate her for who she is. This is a NOVA Youth Conservatory production.

America's premier comic playwright, Neil Simon, makes another hilarious foray into the world of modern relationships. Jake, a novelist who is more successful with fiction than with life, faces a marital crisis by daydreaming about the women in his life. The wildly comic and sometimes moving flashbacks played in his mind are interrupted by visitations from actual females. Jake's Women includes a revered first wife who was killed years earlier in an accident, his daughter who is recalled as a child but is now a young woman, his boisterous and bossy sister, an opinionated analyst, his current wife who is leaving Jake for another man, and a prospective third wife.

An evening of entertaining and delightful opera. This is a perfect opportunity to bring in younger audience members, as we're opening the festival with Little Red Riding Hood by Seymour Barab. Come and meet the Wolf! The closing opera will be The Impresario by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Witness Ebenezer Scrooge's transformation from a stingy miser to a man who generously celebrates the spirit of the season all year long, in this highly theatrical adaptation.

Nick is a single, Italian-American guy from New Jersey. His parents retired and moved to Florida. That doesn’t mean his family isn’t still in Jersey. In fact, he sees both sets of his grandparents every Sunday for dinner. This is routine until he has to tell them that he’s been offered a dream job. The job he’s been waiting for—marketing executive—would take him away from his beloved, but annoying, grandparents. He tells them. The news doesn’t sit so well. Thus begins a series of schemes to keep Nick around. How could he betray his family’s love to move to Seattle, for a job, wonder his grandparents? Well, Frank, Aida, Nunzio and Emma do their level best, and that includes bringing to dinner the lovely—and single—Caitlin O’Hare as bait…we won’t give the ending away here.

During the day, A Likely Story may look like any other used bookstore.  But at night, it’s a place where magic happens.  That’s when the characters inside the books come alive.

Six of those characters — Dorothy Gale, Robin Hood, Pollyanna, Sherlock Holmes, Heidi, and Tom Sawyer — long to help Margie, the scatterbrained owner, save her struggling store.  But they’re not allowed to leave the building or be seen by human eyes.  So when a pair of smugglers comes looking for a stolen necklace hidden inside one of the books, the characters are torn.  Should they warn Margie and risk disappearing forever?  Or can they find a way to defeat the crooks without being seen?

Featuring additional appearances by such beloved literary characters as the Queen of Hearts, Long John Silver, and Doctor Dolittle, this charming comedy celebrates the joy of reading in a fresh, fun-filled way. This is a NOVA Youth Conservatory production.

"Hansel and Gretel" is an opera by nineteenth-century composer Engelbert Humperdinck. The libretto was written in German by Humperdinck's sister, Adelheid Wette, based on the Grimm brothers' fairy tale of the same name. Our production is sung in an English translation.

ACT I
Hansel and Gretel, the young children of a poor broom-maker are at home and hungry since the family is nearly out of food. Gretel shows Hansel some milk that a neighbor has given for the family’s supper. Their mother returns and is angry with how little work the children have done. She accidentally spills the milk and chases the children out into the woods to pick strawberries. The father returns home with an unexpected load of food after selling all his brooms at the market. The mother tells him she has sent the children into the woods. The father says there is a dangerous Witch who lives there, and the parents go to look for their children.

ACT II
In the woods, Hansel and Gretel pick strawberries but soon get lost and grow frightened. When night falls, the Sandman comes to bring them sleep. The children say their evening prayer, and while they dream, guardian angels come to protect them.

ACT III
The Dew Fairy wakes Hansel and Gretel when morning comes, and the children discover the Witch’s gingerbread house. The Witch captures the children and makes a plan to eat them. Gretel outwits the Witch, and defeats her by pushing her into her own oven. All the children the Witch captured before are turned back from gingerbread to real people. The mother and father find the children, and all live happily ever after.
